LINDSBORG, KAN., AUG. 8, 2022 – Bethany College welcomes Tyler Boehmer as the Visiting Associate Professor of Music, College Organist, and Sacred Music Coordinator. Boehmer recently completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Kansas, graduating with honors on his final exams. Boehmer has performed in five cities throughout Russia, at the Washington National Cathedral, and for the 2016 American Guild of Organists (AGO) Houston Convention.
Boehmer has received many accolades including second prize in the 2022 Concours d’orgue de Québec, third prize (ex-aequo) in the 2021 Canadian International Organ Competition, first prize in the 2019 Miami International Ordan Competition, and second prize in the 2018 Sydney International Organ Competition.
Previously, Boehmer worked at Texas Tech University as a contract accompanist. “As part of the Bethany College community, I look forward to working with the students to build their understanding of and passion for music. I hope to build up the organ and music programs as well as provide inspiring music for campus events,” states Boehmer.
