Part of 81 bypass to close to aid project

McPHERSON – Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022, work is scheduled to begin on the second phase of the U.S. Highway 56 and K-153 intersection reconstruction project.

During this time, the north side of the intersection will be reconstructed and the U.S. Highway 81 bypass will be closed on the north side (affecting southbound traffic on 81).

Traffic can follow a detour utilizing 14th Avenue (Main Street) and U.S. 56 (Kansas Avenue).

The map is attached.

Person Construction LLC is the primary contractor for the project and is scheduled to have all phases completed in November, weather permitting.

The City of McPherson thanks the public for its patience during this project. Any questions can be directed to the Department of Public Works at 620-245-2545 during normal working hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
