Turnovers Undo the Tigers Against Texas Wesleyan
The Central Christian College women's basketball team opened up 2023 hosting the Texas Wesleyan University Rams, currently the top team in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
The Tigers hung with Rams for the first 15 minutes, but over the remaining 25 minutes, the visitors showed why they are undefeated in SAC play. The Tigers were within three of the Rams (33-30) midway through the second quarter. However in the final 4:32 seconds of the first half, the Rams outscored the Tigers 16-3 to lead 49-33 heading into the break.
The Rams continued to pour it on in the second half increasing the scoring margin to 33 points by the end of the third quarter, and 54 (114-60) by the end of the game.
The relentless pressure by the Rams' defense, especially in the second half led to 33 turnovers by the Tigers, which TEXWES turned into 40 points.

For the game, the Tigers shot 37% from the floor (18 of 52).
They shot pretty well from beyond the three point arc making 12 of 29 (41%).
They were outstanding from the charity strip making 10 of 11 attempts (91%).
Three Tigers scored in double figures.
