McPherson County’s 91 coaches earned an average salary of $37,900 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 14th lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at Kansas post-secondary schools during 2022.

McPherson County is home to three post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, McPherson College stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $45,936.

Male coaches of men's teams received $41,730 on average in McPherson County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $35,736.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
